Fountain Hills Assisted Living is owned by the Carl and Carlene Mortensen family. Carl and Carlene are long-time residents of Lubbock. They own Mortensen Properties and have worked for many years as real estate developers in the Lubbock area. The Mortensens value family and quality of life. They appreciate the chance to offer residents needing assistance the opportunity to live a meaningful life in a lovely home in the beautiful Fountain Hills Estates subdivision. In addition to their business enterprises, the Mortensens also spend a great deal of time in church service. They work full-time in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple here in Lubbock, and recently returned from a 2-year service mission to Jamaica.
Nathan Smith, the Manager of Fountain Hills ALMC, has been in management and administration for the past 25 years. Most of his experience is in education. He was a teacher, principal, and superintendent of schools in Colorado. Mr. Smith and his wife moved to Texas in 2016 to manage Fountain Hills. Mr. Smith, along with his wife Tyanya and their adult children feel blessed to have this opportunity to serve the residents here at Fountain Hills. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys hunting, fishing, and working with area youth as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.
Tamra Wyatt works as our on-site Registered Nurse. Tamra, who originates from Meadow, Texas, has 15 years nursing experience. She spent a great deal of her professional career working in a neonatal intensive care unit. Tamra has three children, ages 9, 11, and 13. She and her family enjoy spending time together outdoors, camping, and doing projects together.
Sara Nathman works as a cook and caregiver at Fountain Hills ALMC. She was the first caregiver hired here. Sara, who is originally from New Orleans but was raised in Pennsylvania, comes to us with 18 years of medical and 5 years of cooking experience. Before her time in Assisted Living, Sara served in the Army, active duty. She did two overseas tours. Sara has two boys, ages 15 & 11. She enjoys spending time outdoors and running, and aspires to eventually become a Registered, Clinical Dietician.
Danielle Downey is a native of the Lubbock area. She has worked as a caretaker for two years. Danielle, who is also a rodeo cowgirl, plans to continue her education and then enter the fields of Interior Design and Real Estate. She enjoys redoing furniture, decorating, and spending time outdoors.
Jenna Smith has worked as a caregiver at Fountain Hills ALMC since it first opened. Jenna recently graduated from Slaton High School. She loves playing sports, especially volleyball, and spending time with her family. Jenna will be leaving us to attend Brigham Young University, Hawaii this fall. Jenna loves the residents here, and looks forward to seeing everyone again when she returns next summer.
Bailee Smith comes to us from Rigby, Idaho. Bailee has worked in healthcare for the past couple of years as a CNA and as a physical therapist assistant. Bailee attends Brigham Young University-Idaho online where she is working toward a degree in nursing. She enjoys traveling with her husband, who is in the United States Air Force. She also loves hiking, crocheting, and spending time with her dog Duke.
